When you’re running a large pond or high flow rates, standard UV units can struggle to keep pace. The OASE Bitron C 110 W delivers powerful UV‑C output for demanding garden and koi pond systems where consistent water clarity is essential.
It is designed for inline installation in pump‑fed filtration setups and works alongside properly sized mechanical and biological filters.
What It Does
Green water is caused by microscopic single‑cell algae suspended in the pond. As water passes through the Bitron C housing, it flows around a 110‑watt UV‑C lamp enclosed within a protective quartz sleeve.
The ultraviolet light:
- Disrupts single‑cell algae
- Causes the algae to clump together
- Allows your filter to capture and remove the particles
UV‑C controls suspended algae but does not replace filtration. Your filter removes the dead material from the system.
Installation Layout

Typical setup:
Pump → Bitron C 110 W → Filter → Return to pond
Positioning the UV before the filter ensures treated algae are removed efficiently.
Correct performance depends on matching pond volume and pump flow rate to the unit.
Maintenance & Safety
