The Filtreau Moving Bed Bundle gives you the main components needed to add a moving-bed biological filtration stage to your pond system. It includes a Filtreau Moving Bed Filter, two 50 litre bags of Evolution Aqua K1 Media and an Evolution Aqua AirTech 95 Litre Air Pump.

Moving-bed filtration uses air to keep the media in constant motion. This helps create an oxygen-rich environment for beneficial bacteria to establish on the protected surface of the media. Evolution Aqua K1 Media is designed to circulate through the vessel with airflow from an air pump and diffuser setup.

Installation And Maintenance

Position the Filtreau Moving Bed Filter on a solid, level base with safe access for cleaning and servicing. Connect the air pump and suitable diffuser arrangement so the K1 Media moves freely within the chamber.

Check the inlet, outlet and air connection sizes before ordering pipework, valves or fittings. Keep the air pump in a suitable dry location and follow the manufacturer instructions for installation.

Always isolate electrical equipment before maintenance. Inspect the air pump, airline, diffuser and filter connections regularly. Avoid cleaning established K1 Media with untreated tap water, as this may disturb the beneficial bacteria living on the media.
