If you’re building a moving bed filter, the media matters. Evolution Aqua K1 Media is engineered in a wheel shape and designed to move freely under aeration, giving beneficial bacteria a protected place to grow .

Used worldwide and exclusively distributed by Evolution Aqua, the K1 Moving Bed process has been scientifically tried and tested in fish farming and waste water treatment for over 10 years .

Why K1 Media works

As air is introduced into the chamber, the media gently tumbles. This movement keeps the biofilm active and efficient while preventing compaction.

How to use K1 Media

• Install in a moving bed chamber
• Aerate using an air pump and air stones or diffuser
• Allow time for beneficial bacteria to colonise

The media is designed so that a small amount of water flow – created by aeration – circulates it throughout the vessel .

Fit notes

• Suitable for Nexus systems, moving bed chambers and custom bio filters
• Requires adequate aeration to keep media in constant motion
• Do not pack tightly – leave space for movement
