Large ponds with higher flow rates need stronger UV output to keep green water under control. The OASE Vitronic 55 W delivers high-performance UV‑C clarification for bigger ornamental and lightly stocked koi ponds.
It’s designed to work alongside a properly sized mechanical and biological filter.
How It Works
Water from your pump passes through the Vitronic housing and flows around a UV‑C lamp protected by a quartz sleeve.
The ultraviolet light:
- Disrupts single‑cell algae
- Causes algae to clump together
- Allows your filter to capture and remove the debris
UV‑C controls suspended algae but does not replace filtration.
Installation Layout

Pump → Vitronic 55 W → Filter → Return to pond
Installing the UV before the filter allows treated algae to be removed efficiently.
Correct sizing depends on pond volume and pump flow rate.
