If you want a solid, no-nonsense fibreglass filter with high internal surface area, the Yamitsu Platinum 14000 Box Filter (GRP) FS522 is built for goldfish and koi ponds alike.

Manufactured in GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), it’s robust, long-lasting and has no moving parts to replace, giving beneficial bacteria a stable home to thrive.

Typical pump-fed setup:

Install after your pump on a solid, level base. Allow space for lifting out foam layers during cleaning.

Maintenance tips

• Rinse foam layers in pond water, not tap water.
• Replace carbon foam as required.
• If fitting a UV-C, follow lamp replacement guidance and always isolate power before servicing.
